Where sweepstakes casinos are permitted, state by state

Sweepstakes casinos operate under state promotion law rather than gambling law. Most states permit them; a growing number exclude them. Both lists are below and are retested monthly.

Fourteen states where registration is refused

No rated casino accepts registrations from these states. Existing accounts are usually closed if a player relocates to one.

Three rules that apply everywhere

1Location is verified

Casinos check location at registration and at redemption. A mailing address in a permitted state is not sufficient on its own.

2Age is 18 or 21

Most casinos accept 18+. Stake.us and several others require 21 everywhere, and some states set 21 as the floor.

3Lists change

Four states were added to the excluded list in 2026. We retest every casino’s list at the start of each month.

Not legal advice. This page reflects the casinos’ own published rules as of November 2026. If your state is unclear, ask the casino’s support team before you register.
